Internet   study and three outdoor areas.
Heating   You won't see much from the street, in fact it's pretty much totally hidden away behind a high
Smoke-free   wall. That's the way we planned it. We're a  luxury retreat - away from the world and yet so close
 Linen   to town.

We have a separate study, just in case you need
to take care of work whilst you are away from  home.
Or perhaps you'd just like to catch up with friends and
    email them your photos.
A computer including printer plus Internet access is
    included for your convenience.

    Heating
From May - August we have diesel-based underfloor heating, you'll be nice and toasty warm.
The house will have it's temperature preset for you so you don't have to worry about it!
Please don't try to change any temperatures  - it's all pre-defined.
For ambience and cosy evenings, there is also a stunning, over 1 metre wide,
Home    gas fireplace in the 'formal lounge' for year round use.  There are controls under the grill plate
or you can use the ones to the right hand side of it - up at shelf level on the right hand side of the wall.
They are labeled for your convenience.
Winter is Queenstown is cold !  This year alone we've had temperatures of minus 12 !  The heating
can't help you if you leave windows open or forget to pull down and close ALL the blinds in the late
afternoon. Our home gets fabulous sunshine during the day - so open the curtains and let the house
soak up the heat. Then at night , by closing all blinds you can retain this heat and you'll be toasty!
    Smoke Free
Bennetts on Brisbane has a strict no-smoking
policy both in the house and in the grounds.
Our home insurance is also linked to this
non-smoking feature.  Please make sure that
any and all family members and guests are

aware of this. We are very passionate about this.

    Linen
Beautiful bed linen, towels, as well as kitchen linen await you. And your beds will have been
made up prior to your arrival! If applicable, we'll even match the cot linen to your baby's sex!
During the winter months, cosy flannette linen will be supplied to ensure you feel snuggly.
  Kitchen
Our  enormous, corridor kitchen is fully equipped with top of the range, split fridge and freezer, oven,
convection and microwave oven, 2 x dishdrawers and gas hobs by Fisher & Paykel, New Zealand.
This kitchen is divine! There's a selection of cookbooks to help inspire you.
Plus a servery to the front piano room or pass our your meal to one of the side entertainment areas!
There is a first aid kit up in the cupboard above the refrigerator.

E-Mail Us   Breakages
If any damage should occur please email us IMMEDIATELY. Naturally, we expect that you
would cover the cost of any repairs/replacements. Of course we won't get stressed if you have
broken a coffee cup - but still, we'd like to know so that we can get the item replaced before the
    next visitors arrive.

Our front room is known as the Piano room.

This gets wonderful morning sun and opens up via french doors to a courtyard on the right hand side.

  Telephone
Yes, we have a phone! Actually there are three in the house  They are available for visitor use for
    both local and free-call numbers.
If you have friends who need to contact you - the number is +64 3 441 2028
    Location
Nestled , as the name suggests in the  cul-de-sac of Brisbane Street we are only a two minute walk
from the centre of town. Yet we are in a residential area and it is bordered on two sides by the
    fabulous Queenstown Gardens. Perfect!
Our location is soooo good, that you may find that it's not worth driving into town as parking in town
E-Mail Us is not only expensive but often hard to find. If walking  - expect 2 minutes, if driving allow 15mins!
We regularly walk to town - even at night - it's down the garden path at the end of the street.

In 2008 this room is being refurbished with new colours and a Queen bed.

    Groceries
There are two large supermarkets just outside of town and two smaller ones in the township itself.
Just be careful, the ones in town have much higher prices and quite limited choices!
Of the two large ones, Fresh Choice, on Gorge Road is the closest to town and New World is out at
Frankton. Both will home-deliver to save you the effort of going there, however we regularly walk
to Fresh Choice. It will take around 10-15 minutes .
    Airport Transfers
Upon arrival at Queenstown Airport, you can find us three ways.
A taxi is our recommendation - expect to pay around 20-25 NZ dollars.
Shuttle buses are also available however they often firstly do a tour of the hotels before
dropping off elsewhere.  They also charge by 'per person' which means they are often more
expensive in the long run than a taxi.
Neither shuttles nor taxis will charge you to carry your skis - they all have ski racks.
The red double decker shopper bus is the cheapest option but would drop you only
    in the centre of town.
    TV / DVD
There's a Samsung LCD TV  and a DVD player for your use in the formal lounge.
New Zealand has 4 major TV stations.  Sky TV (20 channels) + Sky Sport is also connected.
In fact, we have 2 separate sky decoders - one for the lounge and one which broadcasts to the
    other rooms.
As we have a multitude of devices - we have a box which everything connects into. This is in the
cupboard under the TV (as are the dvd player & video). Notes on use are on the inside of that door.
The Master bedroom also has a Samsung LCD TV - and even the Kitchen has an LCD with built in DVD
player in case you'd like to put on music / culinary dvds whilst cooking.
    Spa
The master ensuite includes the top of the range Englefield spa. With 24 different jets, including
massagers it's wonderful. We do ask however that you always check that the water level is high
enough to cover entirely the highest jet that you've activated.
If the water level is below - then the motor will burn out. Please, if you either bump the 'on'  switch
or realise - from the noise -  that there is not enough water - immediately turn off the spa and
put in more water or change the settings.  Enjoy!     It is the best we could find on the market!

Fifth bedroom: The children's loft also doubles as another bedroom. It has a single trundle bed

As there are steep stairs to the loft we do not suggest that children under 6 years of age
    sleep here.
The loft, 3rd and 4th bedrooms share a double sized bathroom featuring double basins, a double
sized shower with the latest Grohe double - headed shower  feature + side spa jets.
Winter Tariff - Why is it more expensive to rent during Winter?
No, we're not trying to take advantage of you because it's the ski season. The fact is that
ours is a very, very large, long house. Our underfloor heating system is simply wonderful in that
you'll always be toasty warm, however it is not only extensive  but also ridiculously expensive.
Our local power supplier also raises the cost of electricity by as much as 40% during Winter !
The increase in rates is to contribute towards the extra charges.
